As avid fans know, the last episode of Finding Carter ended with the introduction of a new brother, Ben Wallace, who is said to be the son of David Wilson and Laurie Stevens. Zac Pullam, who plays Carter’s brother Grant Wilson, cleared up what to expect with the introduction of the new character and hinted at the never-ending drama that encircles the others prominent characters.
“Grant’s not really stressing about it. Sure, it’s weird, but I only have a couple of scenes with Ben,” Zac said about his new half-brother on the show. One upside of the new male part, according to the 14-year-old, is having another guy in the house.
Ben Wallace, taken on by Ben Winchell, isn’t the only new face coming to the drama series. Known for his role on the Twilight saga, Jackson Rathbone will join the ever-growing cast of Finding Carter as a businessman who, like many other male characters presently on the show, grows an attraction for Carter Stevens, played by Kathryn Prescott. Rathbone’s role is set to stay on board for several episodes, Entertainment Weekly reports.
As seen in almost every episode, Max and Grant have a best friend/brother type relationship. Thank the writers at MTV for not altering this bromance of epic proportions with the insertion of Ben Wallace. Pullam confirmed this when he said, “It won’t change those two guys’ chemistry. They’re still pretty close.” Finding Carter fans rejoice! Although those two stay in tact, the rocky on/off romance between Taylor and Max isn’t so secure.
“It’s going to be a lot more drama with the kids like it was in season one, and I don’t think this season will be as sad as the beginning of season two with all the crying.” So, get rid of those tissues and grab the popcorn because things are about to get intense! New secrets will surface, mainly involving Carter and her newfound brother Ben. After the first half of season two, it’s clear whose parents Carter, Taylor, and Ben belong to, but Grant’s lineage hasn’t been spelled out. Zac Pullam graciously cleared up any previous confusion.
“Grant is the son of David and Elizabeth. Everyone’s so confused on how they could have a kid after they couldn’t. I mean, it happens all the time. He’s really the only kid from Elizabeth,” he said. He also disclosed that Grant will be living with the Wilson’s from now on. His move to his grandparents’ was a one-time deal.
As for Grant’s love life, Reagan, aka the girl at the arcade that played online video games with the youngest Wilson sibling, may be entering into his life for good this season. Zac said that she will in fact be making a reappearance in the second half of the season.
Everyone can also take another huge deep sigh of relief because Carter will not get kidnapped for a third time. “Laurie is living in an apartment. It’s just a normal day in the Wilson world where you can go and talk to your kidnapper everyday,” Pullam said.
The upcoming episodes of the phenomenon that is Finding Carter, as described by the teen who makes it come to life as “educational,” will conclude differently than in the past. “Towards the end of the season it’s a lot more like a movie really than a TV show, which is cool because it’s a different vibe to Finding Carter than the past two,” Zac said leaving us all in suspense as to what could possibly happen.
Make sure to tune in to MTV on Oct. 6 at 10/9c for the remainder of season two.
