An upcoming horror-comedy from filmmaker McG has just landed a big Disney star.
According to Variety, Bella Thorne has joined the cast of The Babysitter. She'll be starring alongside Samara Weaving, Judah Lewis, Robbie Amell and Andrew Bachelor (also known as King Bach on Vine).
The Babysitter will follow a 12-year-old boy and his babysitter when their night suddenly takes a turn for the worse. The horror-comedy will be directed by McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Salvation) and written by Brian Duffield (Insurgent). The screenplay for The Babysitter was placed on 2014's blacklist, a collection of the best un-produced scripts in Hollywood.
Bella Thorne will mainly be known to Disney fans, as she starred for three seasons on the Disney Channel original series Shake It Up. She recently appeared in the comedy The Duff with Mae Whitman, but the actress is no stranger to horror as well, making an appearance on MTV's Scream this past season. She is also signed on for the upcoming Amityville Horror sequel, Amityville: The Awakening.
The Babysitter is expected to begin filming this fall in Los Angeles. No release date has been set, but it will likely hit theaters in 2016.
