Bernie Sanders appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night, where the hopeful presidential candidate shared his views on the legalization of marijuana.
Sanders revealed he wasn’t opposed to legalizing it, but didn’t exactly take a firm stance either. What he did firmly take a stance on is ending the “war on drugs,” noting the “large numbers of lives that have been destroyed” due to being jailed for marijuana possession.
“… I am not unfavorably disposed to moving toward the legalization of marijuana,” he continued, EW reports.
When Kimmel joked he implement “postal carriers” to deliver weed, Sanders suggested that would eliminate the “federal deficit pretty quickly, won’t it?”
Sanders’ stance on marijuana will undoubtedly bring in younger voters, especially paired with his stance on tuition-free education.
When asked about Larry David’s impression of him on SNL, he quoted David’s famous Curb Your Enthusiasm line, “Well I thought it was pretty, pretty, pretty good!”
