Popular animated comedy Bob’s Burgers has been given the green light for a seventh and eighth seven.
The Fox comedy had been a reliable lead-in program for the network’s Sunday live-action/animated comedy line up, and its renewal means it will likely be paired with The Simpsons for the next two broadcast seasons, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Simpsons had also recently received a two-season renewal.
The news should please fans of the show, which won an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program last year and was also nominated twice this year.
As Bob’s Burgers prepares for its 100th episode in spring 2016, this season (6) will feature a myriad of celebrity guest voice actors, including Jordan Peele, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Eichner, Jenny Slate, Steve Buscemi, Henry Winkler and Keegan-Michael Key, reported Entertainment Weekly.
“Six seasons in, the Belchers have become one of America’s most beloved TV families, and we are so happy to keep them in the fold for another two seasons,” David Madden, the President of Fox Broadcasting Co. Entertainment, said on Wednesday.
“Bob’s Burgers is hilarious, warm, smart, inventive – critics love it, and so do fans. Loren, Jim and the brilliant voice cast continue to surprise us in the best ways, and we look forward to seeing what Bob and the family will cook up in Seasons Seven and Eight,” Madden added.
