NeNe Leakes is returning to Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta’s new season despite leaving the show after last season, the network has confirmed.
She revealed in June that she was leaving the show, which she has been on since its inception, to focus on other projects. Just last week she revealed she will star in Broadway’s Chicago from Nov. 23 to Dec. 20.
Bravo has confirmed she will appear on Season 8, which premieres in November.
According to TMZ, the reason Leakes is returning is because producers begged her to come back to spice up the lacking storylines from the other women. She surprised the ladies by showing up to Jamaica, where they’re filming a retreat. She won’t be on the show in the beginning but she will show up towards the end of the season.
The teaser trailer, which came out in September, introduced us to the newest member of the cast – Kim Fields. Former Housewife Shereé Whitfield will return in a smaller role and newbie Shamea Morton will appear as a “friend” as well.
