After playing one of the most despicable protagonists of all time in Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston wants to make us all hate him once again.

In an interview with Metro, Cranston said that he'd love to play the villain in a Marvel movie. Instantly comic book fans began suggesting roles he'd be perfect for like Norman Osborn, but before you get too excited, Cranston also said he wants to play a completely original character.

"Create one from scratch," Cranston said. "I don’t know what I would do but it would be nasty."

That would be pretty interesting, especially because just about every major villain to appear in the Marvel films so far has been based on a pre-existing comic book character. The closest the studio has come to a totally original villain was the Mandarin in Iron Man 3, which was technically based on an existing character but with a completely new interpretation.

For now, Cranston can be seen in the new film Trumbo, which tells the story of a Hollywood screenwriter placed on the blacklist for his political beliefs. Many have speculated this performance will enter him into the Oscar race, although Cranston himself said that's not something he's too focused on.
