Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Tristan Thompson ended his holdout and agreed to a five-year/$82 million contract Wednesday.

Thompson's agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN the deal is for a straight five seasons and all money is guaranteed, making Thompson the sixth highest-paid power forward in the NBA.

Thompson and the Cavs have been locked in a stalemate all summer and Thompson was nowhere to be found on media day back in September. He has also missed training camp and all of preseason.

Thompson was originally seeking a max contract, which the Cavaliers were not willing to give him. He previously turned down a five-year/$80 million deal.

Cleveland has been awarding hefty contracts all summer including the five-year/$110 million contract signed by Kevin Love. Thompson's deal now gives the Cavs the highest payroll in NBA history.

Cleveland has kept their core group of players from last season, namely Lebron James, Love and Kyrie Irving, together in hopes they will lead them to a second consecutive NBA Finals. Thompson gave the team a much needed lift in last season's playoffs with Love and Irving sidelined and is one of the league's better offensive rebounders.

The Cavaliers' season will tip off Oct. 27 against the Chicago Bulls.
