Football great Dan Marino is caught up in a paternity scandal.
The married NFL Hall of Famer reportedly fathered a child back in 2005 with a CBS staff member. He’s been a pregame analyst for the network since 2003.
According to The New York Post, the former Miami Dolphins quarterback got Donna Savattere, a former production assistant at CBS’ Manhattan offices, pregnant.
“They had an affair, and she had a baby,” an insider says of their daughter, Chloe. “Everything was on the down-low and secretive.”
Marino will work this Superbowl Sunday’s Super Bowl Today broadcast with other NFL alumni, such as Boomer Esiason and Shannon Sharpe.
The squeaky clean imaged Marino said in a statement to the Post, “This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved.”
“My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together,” he said on their 28th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. “And we continue to be a strong and loving family.”
Marino has six kids with his wife, Claire, four boys and two adopted girls.
USA Today reports that Savattere moved from New York to Texas to ensure everything remained a secret. Marino agreed to pay her millions.
