After talking about it for the past year, Demi Lovato is about to drop her newest album this week. The reviews are already coming in, and the release is riding on the video for the album's second single, “Confident.”
With the same title, Confident officially comes out globally on Oct. 16 through Hollywood and Island Records. Listeners already got a taste of Lovato’s sound in recent months with the track “Cool for the Summer.” The pop star has dabbled with EDM-influenced sounds before, on the appropriately-titled “Neon Lights,” and “Cool” seemed like the next step forward, accompanied by a mature image.
The second single, “Confident,” followed in September. While it has only reached No. 80 on the Billboard Hot 100 so far, the song, which sounds a bit Rihanna-influenced, ought to get a strong push from the video, which came out on Friday. Reported by People, the video includes an appearance from actress Michelle Rodriguez.
