The Los Angeles Dodgers are likely in search of a new manager as reports have surfaced that Don Mattingly is out as the skipper after five years with the club.

According to CBS Sports, sources with knowledge of the situation said that Mattingly and the team have agreed to mutually part ways. An announcement is expected later today.

ESPN reported that sources said after some discussions with the front office Mattingly thought it was best to move on and work for an ownership group that hired him and the sides agreed on the change.

The Dodgers won three straight division titles under the former Yankees first baseman, but advanced past the NLDS just once; not something an organization with a $300 million payroll was hoping for. This postseason the team had another early exit and were defeated by the New York Mets in Game 5 of the Division Series.

Mattingly was hired to replace Joe Torre in 2011 and has a 446-363 record.

There will likely be interest in the 54-year-old's services from clubs with vacancies in the coming days. The Miami Marlins are one of the teams that are reportedly awaiting official word on his departure.
