The Expendables are heading back to theaters for yet another adventure and the film now has an expected release date.

According to Variety, The Expendables 4 will begin filming next year and will hit theaters in 2017. It will have a budget of over $100 million, higher than the $90 million budget of the previous entry.

Not much is known about the plot of the movie yet, but many of the franchise's cast is expected to return. Jason Statham said he'll do as many sequels as Sylvester Stallone wants and Pierce Brosnan has previously said he'd appear in a future installment. Hulk Hogan also revealed he was in talks to play the villain of the fourth film, although it's unclear if the controversy surrounding his racist rant over the summer will affect that.

The first Expendables opened in 2010 to impressive box office numbers, but every sequel has seen a decline in ticket sales. Supposedly, the Chinese distribution rights are what helped this fourth film get off the ground. The Expendables 3 opened to a disappointing $39 million in the U.S., but it took in $79 million in China. Executive producer Steven Paul told Variety that the franchise's shoot-em-up nature has helped it do so well overseas.
