The NBA announced Friday that it has fined Miami Heat guard Gerald Green $25K for making menacing gun gestures in a preseason game.

Green made celebratory gun gestures after making 3-pointers with 5:33 and 5:12 remaining in the Heat’s 110-105 victory over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night, per ESPN.

Green, who finished the game with 29 points on 8-14 shooting along with 9 rebounds, had mimed finger guns with his hands, a gesture deemed to be menacing by the league.

The NBA has cracked down in recent years on gun-like gestures and celebrations, and Green’s fine doesn’t come as a surprise.

This is Green’s first season with the Heat, having signed with the team as a free agent in July on a one-year contract worth $1.4 million.

Green, 29, is entering his eighth season as a journeyman, having made previous stops at Boston, Houston, Minnesota, Dallas, New Jersey, as well as in Indiana and Phoenix.

Last season, Green averaged 11.9 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for the Phoenix Suns as a key reserve. Barring injury or unforeseen circumstances, Green is set to feature prominently off the Miami bench this season.

The Miami Heat tipoff the season at home against the Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 28.
