Jay Leno returned to The Tonight Show last night, but not as host. He helped pinch hit for Jimmy Fallon and got to perform a monologue that skewered the candidates running for president.

After getting a few jokes in, Fallon said that he pulled his "hammy," so he had to pull in another comedian to help out. That other comedian was Leno, of course. Wearing a black shirt and black tie under his jacket, Leno stepped in as if he had never left. "The election's getting nasty," Leno joked, bringing up Ralph Nader's insults for Hillary Clinton.

"Isn't it unbelievable? Ralph Nader is still alive?"

Leno also tossed in a few jokes about the also-rans in the Democratic race, but he had quite a few jabs for the Republicans.

Leno handed off the Tonight Show to Jimmy Fallon in February 2014. He currently hosts a car show on CNBC, but based on his performance last night, he's itching to host another late night show.
