Forward John Henson and the Milwaukee Bucks agreed to a contract extension on Friday.
According to the Associated Press, the extension is for four years and $44 million. The deal could be worth $48 million if certain incentives are reached. Henson and the Bucks had been negotiating an extension since July and finally got it finalized.
"We're close," Henson said earlier this week. "We're just trying to work out some details. It's a process; we'll see what happens. But I definitely want to be here for a long time."
Henson was drafted by the Bucks in 2012. He is considered to be one of the NBA’s most underrated frontcourt defenders. Last season, he averaged seven points, 4.7 rebounds, and two blocks with the Bucks, according to ESPN. Henson was sixth in the NBA in blocks last year.
Henson joins Jabari Parker, Michael Carter-Williams, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Greg Monroe and Khris Middleton on a young and growing Bucks team that was 41-41 last season.
