Full House actor John Stamos has been formally charged with driving under the influence in his June arrest. Stamos, who currently stars in Fox’s Grandfathered, could face up to six months in jail if convicted.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced today that the actor is charged with driving while under the influence of drugs. He will be arraigned on Oct. 16 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Stamos does not need to be in attendance and can be represented by his attorney.

The Beverly Hills Police Department is still investigating the incident.

Stamos was arrested in June after someone called 911, reporting a person driving erratically in Beverly Hills, according to prosecutors. The 52-year-old actor was then taken to Cedars Sinai Hospital and thanked the Beverly Hills Police Department for helping him on Twitter.

Later, Stamos went to rehab and he told the Today Show last month that it has been a difficult year for him.

“Well, I lost my mother last year, and she was the love of my life — obviously a difficult time for me,” Stamos told Today. “I had this moment, I had some time off, and I had a decision to make. So I took advantage of the time. And I made a choice, and I’m just so grateful I did.”

In addition to Grandfathered, Stamos is producing Netflix’s Full House sequel series Fuller House, which will be available next year. Grandfathered airs on Tuesdays on Fox.
