Katie Couric has reason to celebrate this morning. Despite stellar ratings, her talk show Katie will return for a second season.

The New York Times reports Couric's talk show will be sticking around for a little bit longer. Television analysts expected this to happen because Katie has been the best-rated syndicated talk show of the season by far. It placed sixth in total viewers of the 18 shows competing in the talk genre. It averaged a bout 2.5 million viewers daily this season.

The Los Angeles Times reports this renewal will stop any rumors Couric will reunite with her former producer Jeff Zucker at CNN. This is good news for Zucker too, because he created the talk show for Couric.

Zucker first teamed up with Couric on NBC's Today and executive produced Katie before taking the job at CNN.

Couric has been a news show fixture for decades. She worked with the Today show from 1991-2006 and the CBS Evening News from 2006 to 2011. She now is a special correspondent for ABC News M in addition to having her talk show.
