Lizzie Borden was an ax murderer in the 1800’s, who is getting a movie made about her, starring Kristen Stewart and Chloe Sevigny.
The Hollywood Reporter reported on Wednesday that Sevigny and Stewart will star in the film with Pieter Van Hees (Waste Land) will direct.
Sevigny will play the murderous woman, who was acquitted of murdering her father and stepmother. Stewart is expected to play Borden’s house maid, Bridget Sullivan.
Cinema Blend speculates that the plot could also follow the romantic relationship between Borden and Sullivan. The potential romance is part of the legend of Borden and could add a twist to an already creepy story, which was already told in a Lifetime movie starring Christina Ricci.
The film is currently untitled and has no release date.
Sevigny, an Oscar nominee, currently stars on FX's American Horror Story: Hotel. Stewart has been focusing on indie movies lately, making appearances in Still Alice, Clouds of Sils Maria and American Ultra. Her next film is Equals.
