NASCAR driver Kurt Busch signed a contract extension with Stewart-Hass Racing on Wednesday.
Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, but it’s a multi-year deal. In addition to the contract extension, Busch also got sponsorship from Monster energy drink, which has been an associate sponsor of his. Busch’s primary sponsor is Haas Automation, the company that is owned by SHR co-owner Gene Haas.
Monster will be the co-primary sponsor for Busch with Haas Automation for 17 races next year and will be the primary sponsor for one race, according to ESPN. Monster has sponsored Busch and his brother Kyle in the NASCAR Xfinity Series since 2012.
“To me, it’s a dream come true to have this opportunity,” Busch said. “There’s a lot that I’ve accomplished at Stewart-Haas in a short amount of time, but there’s so much more ahead of us in the future, and I can’t wait to get the claw (Monster’s symbol) on the track and get it to Victory Lane.”
Bush joined Stewart-Hass Racing in 2014. He has made the Chase for the Sprint Cup in his two seasons with the team. He was suspended for the first three races of this year due to a domestic violence investigation. Busch has three poles, two wins, ten top-fives, and 17 top tens this season, and is currently third in points, according to Fox Sports.
He has 27 wins, 116 top fives, and 218 top tens in his career and won the Sprint Cup championship in 2004.
NASCAR heads to Talladega this weekend for the sixth race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
