Maybe as wild as Lindsay Lohan’s mission to get to court Wednesday in Los Angeles was the theatrics her new new lawyer had for the press.
According to E! News, Mark Heller, her attorney rolled into the court parking lot in a Hummer with a custom “IMTRYING” licence plate. Further, he held a press conference with reporters outside holding up a briefcase with a rabbit’s foot dangling from it.
When asked about the briefcase charm, Heller said it was for good luck.
During the hearing, the Judge told a woozy and disoriented Lohan that she could easily face jail time, even if she is found not guilty. Lohan is being charged with lying to police after she reportedly crashed her Porsche on Pacific Coast Highway last year.
According to Judge Stephanie Saunter, since Lohan faces charges of violating her probation, the burden of proof for allegations will be lower during the trial, making the possibility of jail time very real.
Lohan, 26, had a well-documented 24-hours leading up to her appearance--- one that included battling the flu, a red eye flight from New York, and being turned down at Los Angeles hotels whose rooms she’s previously trashed.
Heller went as far to have a letter filed with the judge Monday asking that Lohan be excused because of her flu case. But Lohan made an extra effort to make it to the court Wednesday. According to Heller, this can all be attributable to the “respect” her client has for the court.
According toDaily Mail Online, Lohan’s next hearing will be March 1, and the trial is scheduled to begin March 18.
