Although everyone thought Marvel's Phase 3 was pretty set in stone, the studio has just announced some massive changes to its upcoming slate of movies.

Marvel has just revealed that they'll be adding an Ant-Man sequel, titled Ant-Man and the Wasp, to Phase 3. The new film will open on July 6, 2018.

Giving the movie this title over simply Ant-Man 2 indicates we'll be seeing a lot more of Hope Van Dyne this time around. A huge complaint about the original Ant-Man was that Hope was forced to sit on the sidelines despite being far more qualified than Scott Lang, so it seems the studio wants to correct that in the next installment.

Adding this movie means some other films need to be shifted around, and so Marvel has moved Black Panther from July 2018 to February 2018. Captain Marvel has also been delayed from November 2018 to March 2019.

If you've lost track of all these movies, Marvel's updated Phase 3 will now consist of Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man, Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Avengers: Infinity War Part II, and Inhumans. That's a total of eleven movies in just four years.

As if that wasn't enough, Marvel has also announced three mysterious films for May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020 and November 6, 2020, which will be the beginning of Phase 4. When Steven Spielberg recently speculated that the superhero bubble was going to burst, this is probably what he was talking about.
