Marvel Television shows usually end up in two places - Netflix or ABC. But the studio is finally working on projects for other networks. Hellfire is in development at Fox and Legion is in the works for FX.
Hellfire will be the first live-action series set in the X-Men universe and focuses on the infamous “Hellfire Club,” which hopes to take over the world. Set in the 1960s, the show will be told from the perspective of a special agent who learns about someone working within the group.
It was first reported back in August that Fox was itching to bring the X-Men to the small screen. 20th Century Fox does have the film rights to the Mutant characters and now it’s pretty clear that Fox TV Studios also has the right to use them on television.
Hellfire will be produced by Fox TV with Marvel Television and was created by Evan Katz, Manny Coto, Patrick McKay and JD Payne. McKay and Payne (Star Trek Beyond) are writing the pilot. Katz and Coto are the showrunners. The current title is a working title.
Legion is about David Haller, who was diagnosed as schizophrenic. However, he meets a strange patient who helps him see that the voices he hears might actually be real. The show has received a pilot order and the pilot will be penned by Noah Hawley (Fargo).
Legion is a FX Productions and Marvel Television production. Bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg are among the executive producers.
