Netflix has turned into the home of super dark Marvel TV shows and that could continue with Moon Knight.

During the latest episode of Collider.com’s online show, Heroic Hollywood’s Umberto Gonzales dropped a hint that Moon Knight could get a “back-door pilot” treatment like The Punisher. That means that Moon Knight would be introduced in another show before getting his own series.

Gonzales didn’t give any further details, but he thinks that Marvel has agreed that Moon Knight would be a better fit for television than movies. That’s because the character is essentially “Marvel’s Batman.”

It’s been rumored that another wave of Marvel/Netflix shows would include a solo series for The Punisher/Frank Castle, although that isn’t confirmed. The character will make his debut in season two of Daredevil and is played by Jon Bernthal.

Also, we’re getting ahead of ourselves by thinking about the second wave of Marvel/Netflix shows because the first set isn’t even completed. Jessica Jones is only the second show after Daredevil and doesn’t debut until next month. Luke Cage is currently filming and Iron Fist doesn’t even have an actor for the title role. All four of these shows are also supposed to lead up to a Defenders limited series.
