On the third episode of The Muppets, Kermit’s assistant, Yolanda, tells him that he needs to read Fozzie’s sketch. He says he did and it was awful.
Christina Applegate is on Piggy’s show and shows a video of Piggy falling into a birthday cake and then onto her butt. Piggy is not amused. She tells Christina that they’re no longer friends.
Kermit’s afraid to tell Fozzie how bad his sketch is because they’re friends. When Fozzie asks him how the sketch was, Kermit tells him it was so good that he’d be wasting his time writing more sketches – that it should be a movie.
At Piggy’s next show, Fozzie tells everyone he’s quitting the show to write a movie.
Kermit calls Fozzie, who’s on the road. Kermit tells him that he’s not a writer; that he just didn’t want to hurt his feelings. Fozzie says he doesn’t care if Kermit believes in him because he believes in himself. Kermit asks where he’s going. Fozzie won’t tell him, but Kermit hears his GPS telling him the last instructions to get to his location.
An IT repairman, Chip, arrives to fix Gonzo’s computer. He sees an email for Debbie, a woman Gonzo met on an online dating site. He breaks into Gonzo’s dating profile and finds that Gonzo used a picture of actor Liam Hemsworth to attract more women. Gonzo’s friends tell him it’s a terrible idea. Gonzo freaks out because he’s supposed to meet Debbie later that day.
Kermit introduces Nick Offerman to the crew as taking Fozzie’s place on the show. He tells Nick that he owes him one and Nick asks for a cappuccino machine.
Scooter comes into Piggy’s dressing room. He was supposed to find an embarrassing video of Christina, but he wasn’t able to. Piggy says they’ll make one instead.
Gonzo and his friends meet up with Liam Hemsworth. They talk him into having a date with Debbie and gradually letting her know that Gonzo is really the man she’s been talking to.
Liam asks if Debbie would still be interested if he looked like Gonzo. She says yes. Liam is impressed and tells her he’s not Gonzo, but that she’s the first person who has liked him for more than his looks. He asks her out to dinner. She agrees and they leave.
Nick talks to Kermit. He tells him he wasted his wish on the cappuccino maker and tells Kermit that he wants a boat instead.
Kermit decides to go after Fozzie. Fozzie is going to write in the woods. He didn’t pack food, but sees a bear proof bag hanging in a tree. He starts jumping for it. The campers run away and pass Kermit telling him there’s a bear in the camp. Suddenly Fozzie gets shot with a tranquilizer gun and collapses.
When Fozzie wakes up, Kermit says he’ll help him get his sketch on the air. He says they’ll work on it together until it’s ready. Kermit helps Fozzie up. They head for the car.
Piggy and Scooter go to Christina’s house. Scooter rings the bell with a cake in his hand. Christina asks if he’s supposed to push it in her face so Piggy can record it. He tells her he’s not allowed to say. She doesn’t want him to get fired, so she picks it up and puts her face in it.
Piggy is in the car with a video camera. The cops show up and handcuff her. Christina and Scooter go into the house for coffee.
