With Halloween just a couple of weeks away, Redbox conducted a survey to find out how Americans watch their favorite horror movies and which ones they think are the scariest. Fans of horror movies would definitely not be surprised by the results.
The survey of 800 consumers nationwide found that more than half of those polled do not watch their favorite scary movies alone. Over 90 percent would rather watch a scary movie at home than at a theater, which is probably bad news for any new horror movie coming out. Seventy-three percent also enjoy watching scary movies with the lights off.
Thankfully, no matter what age group you are in, everyone seems to agree that William Friedkin's 1973 film The Exorcist is the best scary movie of all time. In the 18-34 group, 11 percent of respondents picked that movie, while it was 13.3 percent overall.
