UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is fighting back against body shaming after recently being call fat while preparing for a commercial shoot.
Ronda Rousey has won a lot of fights in her climb to the top of the UFC's women's division but now she's fighting a battle outside the ring, body shaming.
The NY Times reported that while being fitted for a recent commercial shoot she was criticized for her weight so she decided to purposely put on a few pounds for the filming. Rousey stated that "the campaign ended up being amazing even though I was heavier just to make a point."
Rousey also went on to say "I swear to God if anyone calls me fat one more time in my life, I'm going to kill them."
Her weight is known to fluctuate between fights where she competes at 135lbs and depending on her training routine during that time.
According to Time, Rousey has issues with body image growing up due in part to weight limits for judo tournaments and also female representation in the media. Since becomming a public figure and role model to women every where she now says "If I can represent that body type of women that isn't represented so much in the media, then I'm happy to do that."
The Women's Bantamweight Champion declined to say which company the ad was for.
