Music mogul Sean Combs (also known by his stage name P. Diddy) will join a growing list of hip hop superstars to venture into television with the production of his new comedy series The Hustle.
The series is being developed by Combs and will air on ABC if given the greenlight. The Hustle will be based on the real life events of Combs' former assistant Sarah Snedeker, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.
According to Rolling Stone, the first episode will be written Jeremy Garelick, co-writer of films such as The Wedding Ringer and The Break-Up, along with Stacey Harman, staff writer on The Goldbergs. The show will follow a small-town girl as she tries to navigate a new and extravagent world after landing a job working for a street educated billionaire.
Combs has previous experience in reality television with the production of MTV's Making The Band, Run's House, Daddy's Girls, and I Want to Work for Diddy but this will mark his first experience with scripted television. He's also done some acting with appearances in Get Him to the Greek and ABC's made for TV movie A Raisin in the Sun.
No official word yet on whether Combs will appear in the series.
