They always say Star Wars fans are the most dedicated fans in the galaxy and they have now proved it. Tickets went on sale on Monday night and to nobody’s surprise, there was a rush of fans on Fandango.
According to Deadline, Fandango, AMC Theaters, and Alamo Drafthouse have been having loading issues and have crashed due to the rush of rabid Star Wars fans. The rush of ticket sales isn't surprising but the sudden crashing of these websites was probably not expected.
The film is set to be released on December 18 and theaters are probably already sold out. "Something funny is definitely going on. We're getting to the bottom of it," a Fandango rep said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
JJ Abrams and Disney are most likely pleased by this news because their film has a chance to be the highest grossing movie of all time. This is certainly the best case scenario for them even if it causes the distress of fans all over the country.
This is not the first time ticket websites have crashed. In fact it happened earlier this year with Avengers: Age of Ultron. If you were one of the many people who experienced website problems have no fear, there is always tomorrow.
