The Big Bang Theory’s Raj has been on a never-ending search for a girlfriend and he may have finally found one. The show’s producers have cast Raising Hope’s Kate Micucci for a multi-episode arc in which she will play his new girlfriend.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Micucci will first appear in “The Tangible Affection Proof,” the show’s Valentine’s Day episode. She will play Lucy, a potential girlfriend for Kunal Nayyar’s character.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the show’s writers started talking about introducing a girlfriend for Raj during Comic Con this summer. “But don’t cheer yet,” executive producer Chuck Lorre told the audience at the convention. “Wait til you see it.”

Star Johnny Galecki told THR recently that the Valentine's Day episode could be a big one for Leonard and Penny. “We never started doing holiday event shows until two or three seasons in, when we did the Christmas episode,” Galecki explained. “That was a big hit, and we struck a chord of sentimentality with our audience, and we'll continue to do so. The Valentine's Day episode will be that.”

Micucci currently has a recurring role on Raising Hope as Shelley and appeared in When in Rome, an episode of Suburgatory and Bored To Death.
