We've been hearing rumors for weeks about the Hulk's role in Thor: Ragnarok, and now Mark Ruffalo has given us some interesting details about the upcoming sequel.

In an interview with The New York Daily News, Mark Ruffalo said that he's pretty sure Ragnarok will be a buddy movie.

"I don't really know that much about it, but I think it's going to be a buddy picture with Thor and Bruce Banner," he said.

He went on to say that he thinks he and Thor will probably fight in the film, noting that everyone wants to see that happen. Fans will recall that Thor and Hulk last fought during The Avengers, a feud which culminated in Hulk punching Thor after an extended action sequence.

Ruffalo also noted that the third Thor film will be about the Norse legends of Ragnarok, or the end times in the Marvel universe, which he said "seems to be quite the theme these days in movies."

The Hulk disappeared mysteriously at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and he is not expected to appear in Captain America: Civil War. Marvel has said that this is because they wanted to save the reveal of where Hulk went for another movie, and we now know that this movie is Thor: Ragnarok. Unfortunately, that means that viewers won't see Ruffalo back as the Hulk for another two years.

Speaking with The Huffington Post recently, Ruffalo said that he's excited to get back to playing the character, and he added that he'd like to see a confrontation between Hulk and Bruce Banner at some point. He's hinting at the comic book storylines in which the Hulk and Bruce Banner are physically separated, which could be quite interesting to see play out on screen.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
