It’s Christmas time, which means many things, including vacations, baking and, of course, presents. Here is a list of songs I love to play repeatedly during the holidays.
10. It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Andy Williams
There are many nice variations of this song, but this one is my favorite because Williams makes the lyrics sound so uplifting.
9. Sleigh Ride Winter Wonderland by Dolly Parton
Although 9 to 5 is Parton’s most famous work, this one should be up there.
8. Do You Know Where Christmas Trees are Grown? by Nina
You may not have heard of this one, but it is played in a segment of the James Bond film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969) and adds to the atmosphere of the movie.
7. Christmastime is Here by Vince Guaraldi
Pretty much everyone has seen the classic cartoon A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965), hence, pretty much everyone has heard this musical gem.
6. Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney
Sir Paul had arguably the most successful career after the Beatles broke up, and this 1979 song is one of the reasons why.
5. Jingle Bell Rock by Johnny Mathis
Another classic song which, in this case, is made more exciting by the singer.
4. Twelve Days of Christmas by John Denver and the Muppets
If this isn’t one of the Muppets' and the late, great Denver’s finest moments, then it should be.
3. Baby Please Come Home by U2
The illustrious band expressed their love for the holidays with this gem which was part of the Olympic-sponsoring A Very Special Christmas album.
2. White Christmas by Bing Crosby
Is it any wonder the legendary singer would utilize this song in the classic 1954 musical film of the same name?
1. Silver Bells by Glenn Close
Yes, that Glenn Close. The one you’ve seen in films such as Fatal Attraction(1987), 101 Dalmations(1996) and Air Force One(1997). She proves with this song that she’s a great singer as well.
