Time to bring out your classiest outfit for the biggest party of the year: New Year's Eve. Cities boast some of the biggest celebrations on earth when it comes to the end/beginning of the year. Here is a list of those not to miss.

1. New York, NY: The crowds, the lights and the confetti; all can be found in the city so nice, they named it twice Dec 31. Bundle up and brave the cold to watch the giant ball drop seconds before midnight with famous performances and entertainers. The surprises are never ending.

2. Sydney, Aus.: First of all, it's summer in Australia during December because it is located south of the Equator. Be the first of your friends to ring in the New Year Down Under ending with a spectacular world famous fireworks display at midnight.

3. Honolulu, Hawaii: Experience fabulous sky high pyrotechnics while lying on Waikiki Beach. Who can resist that holiday adventure?

4. New Orleans, Louis: Bourbon Street is the center of the Crescent City’s party scene, but for New Year’s Eve the native’s put their own Cajun spin on the celebration in Jackson Square. Beginning around 9 p.m. with performances and ending the night with a fireworks show over the Mississippi River.

5. Las, Vegas, Nev.: Sin City is ready to welcome you and your friends for a night you may never remember. Party in one of the many clubs or set yourself up at a black jack table to try your luck. The lights are always on and the party is always going.

6. London, England: Watch the London Eye light up in the foreground as hundreds of fireworks explode. Last year, millions watched the display and you could be one of those in attendance. Stare in awe at midnight then shuffle to one of the city’s many pubs for a late night pint.

7. Boston, Mass.: The more family friendly city to celebrate New Year’s Eve because of the city’s First Night celebration starting at 1 p.m. and ending at (you know) midnight. That is, if your little ones can stay awake!

8. Hong Kong: There is nothing wrong with procrastinating bringing in the dawn of the New Year because the Chinese New Year does not begin until Feb. 3. Be a late bloomer and ring in the Year of the Rabbit with parades and firework show in this Asian financial hub.

9. Orlando, Fla.: Think of spending the last moments of the New Year in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. It is recommended you don’t park hop this night, but be guaranteed a memorable Disney fireworks display where ever you end up.

10. Chicago, Ill.: Beat the cold in one the many clubs stretching across the city. For many, paid admission promises an open bar and appetizers for the majority of the night. A great way to spend the holiday downtown.
