DK has done it again. The publisher, known for books with such extras as vivid pictures, detailed layouts, graphs and loads of interesting tidbits of information, has come up with the handiest guide to Miami and the Keys.
This guide breaks down the city by top ten things, starting with the top 10 "General Highlights," then moving on to more specific categories like "Top 10 Beaches," "Sports Activities," "Festivals," "Chic Shopping Centers," and "Nightlife." Descriptive pictures of the places and what you can find there color the pages, and maps, itineraries, and other helpful tools make navigating through Miami a breeze.
Specific neighborhoods such as Little Havana and Coconut Grove also get their space and there's a separate section dedicated to the Keys, as well as "Side Trips" that one can take to places such as Ft. Lauderdale and the Everglades. Finally, there's a section in the back called "Streetsmart," where you can learn how to plan your trip, "Things to Avoid," "Ways to Save Money,"Senior and Disabled Travelers" information, and more. As if this book wasn't complete enough, both the front and back covers fold out into detailed maps of the city.
I personally used this book on one of my many trips to my "second home" and found it to be extremely helpful in making sure I experienced all that is Miami. I'm sure it will defintiely be an asset to your travels to the Sunshine State.
