Rapper Wiz Khalifa is the latest celebrity to speak out against the five-year ban imposed on UFC fighter Nick Diaz after he tested positive for marijuana earlier this year.
Diaz had received an unprecedented ban last month from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for testing positive following his fight with Anderson Silva at UFC 183.
Khalifa joins a chorus of famous voices speaking out on Diaz’s behalf, as UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey also spoke up about Diaz’s unjust suspension, saying that weed shouldn’t be tested, as it is not a performance-enhancing drug.
Even recently retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. was shocked at Diaz’s suspension.
"Man, let that man smoke weed and enjoy his life," a disgusted Mayweather said.
An official White House petition has been created in support of Diaz, which currently needs over 35,000 more signatures by October 16, 2015 for the White House to deliver an official statement on it.
