Authorities have said that one person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting Monday near New York City’s busy Penn Station.

Reuters noted that the shooting occurred around 6 a.m. during rush hour and close to the subway station entrance at 35th Street and Eighth Avenue.

Few details about the shooting victims and suspect have been released.

Those injured were hospitalized but do not appear to have life-threatening injuries. Their names and the name of the deceased have not yet been released. Law enforcement officials also have not said if the suspect remains at large or has been apprehended.

The Associated Press reported that two men at a nearby methadone clinic said that they knew two of the victims. However, clinic officials did not comment on whether or not any of those involved in the shooting may have attended the treatment center.

Police are still trying to determine a motive for what happened and the incident remains under investigation at this time.
