"Merry Christmas Charlie Brown" are four words that for some, mark the start of the holiday season. It's hard to imagine that this classic tradition is now 50 years old, but the Peanuts gang will be celebrating this anniversary in style.
It's Your 50th Christmas, Charlie Brown will air tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC, followed by A Charlie Brown Christmas at 9 p.m.
The anniversary special will be hosted by Kristen Bell, and will feature a number of celebrities sharing their memories of the special, as well as musical performances by Kristin Chenoweth and Pentatonix.
This television special isn't the only tribute the Peanuts gang will be receiving this year. In addition to the release of The Peanuts Movie this year, Macy's devoted six of their coveted holiday windows to this celebration. Unveiled Friday night, the windows feature Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Shroeder, Snoopy, and the rest of the gang, in six popular scenes from the holiday classic.
