Blake Shelton teased a big announcement over the weekend and it might disappoint anyone hoping for a new album from the country star. The singer will host the 2016 edition of Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards.

Shelton made the announcement during an interview on The Today Show this morning, notes E! News. He stopped by during the fourth hour of Today to chat with Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford.

As previously reported, Shelton teased a big announcement for fans on Twitter. “Just when things were about to quiet down around here... I've got something BIG to announce tomorrow,” he wrote.

The news comes as Shelton is still judging another season of The Voice and it was confirmed last week that he is dating fellow judge Gwen Stefani. Over the summer, he and singer Miranda Lambert got divorced.

Shelton has plenty of experience when it comes to hosting awards shows, but he usually has a co-host. He’s hosted the Academy of Country Music Awards with Reba McEntire and Luke Bryan. The Kid’s Choice Awards will be his first solo ceremony. His most recent album was last year’s Bringing Back The Sunshine.
