Facebook is testing a new tool to help users get over their exes by allowing users to see fewer posts from their former partners.

"This work is part of our ongoing effort to develop resources for people who may be going through difficult moments in their lives," Facebook product manager Kelly Winters wrote in a blog post.

Users will be allowed to turn on an option that removes their exes pictures and posts from displaying in their newsfeed, notes The Associated Press. The option will not require users to unfriend their exes and was designed for those who don't want to risk offending a former lover by blocking them from their Facebook network.

Additionally, you can hide posts from your ex unless you tag them or share them on a mutual friends timeline as well as choose which of your past posts your ex can see, notes CBC News.

Facebook is testing the new tool on mobile devices in the U.S. before deciding if it will expand the service to all users worldwide.
