Harry Giles, the nation’s No. 1 recruit, announced on Friday that he has committed to Duke.
According to Yahoo Sports, Giles chose Duke over Kentucky, Kansas, and Wake Forest. The announcement comes one day after it was confirmed that Giles will miss the rest of the season due to a partially torn right ACL, which happened Tuesday night.
It is the second knee injury of his career as he had torn his left ACL, MCL, and meniscus after his freshman season.
"Every time I go to Duke it feels like home," Giles said after he announced his decision, CBS Sports notes. "Every time I talk to Coach K, it's a special feeling. ...I feel most comfortable there."
Giles had been attending Wesleyan Christian Academy in North Carolina. He transferred to Oak Hill Academy this summer. He has averaged 29.9 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists and led Wesleyan Christina to a 29-5 record and a runner-up finish last year, according to ESPN. Giles averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds and lead his CP3 team to a semifinal appearance at the Peach Jam this summer.
His commitment to Duke means that the school has gotten the nation’s top player in two of the last three seasons.
