Sherri Shepherd’s appeal to have her name removed from the birth certificate of the son born via surrogate who’s being raised by her ex-husband Lamar Sally, was denied on Monday.

She was named the legal mother of 1-year-old L.J. in April and she was ordered to pay $4,000 a month in child support to Sally in July.

Shepherd claims Sally defrauded her into having a baby with his sperm and a donor’s eggs. A judge ruled that she will have to continue to pay child support and her name will remain on the birth certificate.

"I'm glad it's finally over," Sally told People of the ruling. "I'm glad the judges saw through all the lies that she put out there, and the negative media attention. If she won't be there for L.J. emotionally, I'll be parent enough for the both of us."

Shepherd and Sally separated in May 2014, when their surrogate was already months into the pregnancy. She has told People she was “scared” to tell Sally she didn’t want the baby because of her fear he would leave “the relationship” at the time.
