Kate Hudson is talking about the single life in Harper’s Bazaar’s December issue, saying she’s enjoying this time alone.

Hudson, who has two children from previous relationships with ex-husband Chris Robinson and ex-fiance Matthew Bellamy, said she’s focusing on herself and her kids; Ryder 11, and Bingham, 4, right now. She called off her engagement to Bellamy last year.

"It's nice to get acquainted with myself alone," she told Harper’s Bazaar. "You know, the goal when you get into a relationship is not to be out of the relationship. It's to try to stay in the relationship. But if it doesn't work, you can't force things."

Hudson, 36, recently had a brief fling with “Jealous” singer, Nick Jonas, 23, but sources say it was never anything serious.

Despite a few failed relationships, Hudson said she feels “lucky” to have had them.

"I'm at that age now,” said. “I really do feel very lucky. I've had my kids and my relationships. I've set my life down – I'm in my house, and I'm alone with my children – and I'm at peace, and that's a really nice feeling. All I really want in my life is to maintain that."

Hudson went on to laugh off that stigma that relationships in Hollywood never work. She said it’s “tough out there” for anyone, famous or not. “Relationships have a fifty-fifty chance,” she said. “The odds aren't great.”
