AMC’s The Walking Dead has become a full-blown phenomenon. TWD, which is currently in its sixth season, is featuring more zombies than ever before and leaving viewers hanging week after week with burning questions.

The show has been expanding since the early seasons and it now features an entirely new cast of characters from the fictional town of Alexandria, which Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group become a part of. Katelyn Nacon, who plays Enid, joined the show when Alexandria was introduced.

“It was a lot of fun, I got to see more of Enid and got to see more of how her mind worked,” Nacon said.

When it came to developing the character of Enid, Nacon explained that her character’s past was a key part during the developmental process.

“I was kind of basing it off of how she would act, because of her past and a lot of the ways she acts today is based on everything that she went through before, like the loss of her parents," she said. "That made her very independent. She doesn’t want to get close to someone and have to lose them.”

Life on the set of The Walking Dead can be interesting at times, with actors in full terrifying zombie makeup but for Nacon it’s a perk of the job.

“The first walker I ever saw had its spine hanging out of its back," she said. "I’m really interested in all of that stuff!"

While Nacon couldn't say anything about the fate of her character or another important character, she expressed the hope that fans would keep watching and see what happens.

“Just keep watching…like all of the seasons in the past it just keeps getting better," she said.

The Walking Dead airs on AMC Sunday nights.
