Actress Liv Tyler didn’t always know that the famous Aerosmith frontman was her father. In fact, she said that she didn’t find out Steven Tyler was her biological father until she was 8 years old.
While appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show, Tyler, 38, shared the story of exactly how she found out.
“It’s quite an emotional story, honestly, the whole thing,” she told Ross. “My mother was very young when she had me and there was a little bit of confusion about where I came from but I was very loved and very well taken care of by all my family, which was wonderful.”
Tyler went on to talk about how she realized who her father was when she was back stage at his concert with her mother.
“I kind of figured it out because he looked exactly like me and I have a sister named Mia who is a year younger than me and I saw her standing at the side of the stage at a concert and I was literally like looking at my twin.”
She also opened up about being a parent herself and revealed why she and her fiancé, David Gardner, chose friend David Beckham to be their son’s godfather.
“He’s a real gentleman, he’s a very elegant person so very sweet … He loves being a father.”
