Mindy is really struggling to keep it together while Danny is away in California. The hard part is that Mindy cannot admit to Danny that she is having a hard time because Danny is having a hard time taking care of his dad. So Mindy powers on just sending Danny smiley emoji faces with sunglasses.
Mindy’s fertility clinic is going under. It’s in the red and she’s not sure what to do. So Jody proposes that he invests in her practice. He proposes the idea of pitching the Later Baby concept of freezing your eggs to college students. She pushes Jody away, but steals his idea.
On top of all of this craziness, Peter comes back into town and crashes on Mindy’s couch unannounced. So the entire office has the task of entertaining him since Mindy doesn’t have the time. Jeremy goes to dinner with Peter for a guy’s night. However, Peter invites Tamra and Colette along so they can resolve their issues. Colette and Tamra were able to solve their problems. Not so much Peter and Jeremy.
Mindy wakes up late the next morning, realizing that she had missed her presentation. Of course, Peter, the jerk that he is, didn’t know about it and let her sleep. She gets to NYU to find that Jody did the presentation, and a good job at that. Or not, since apparently he’s slept with several students at NYU, which caused an uproar in the audience. So Mindy saves the day by pitching: “Hey life is messy, guys suck. Give yourself more time by freezing your eggs.”
Peter makes up with Jeremy by apologizing for the crappy time Jeremy had when he visited Peter in Austin. Peter breaks down and admits that he hates his lame “whipped” life in Austin and wishes he were cool like he was when he lived in NYC.
At the end of the day, Mindy decides to split the practice with Jody 50-40 (Morgan gets 10 percent). She even finally admits to Danny that she’s having a hard time balancing everything.
