NBC is unleashing one of its midseason comedies tonight, if you plan on staying up after The Voice. Superstore, a workplace comedy that stars America Ferrera, premieres tonight.

The peacock is airing two episodes tonight, starting at 10 p.m. It’s only a special preview, meaning that you won’t see episode three until Jan. 4. By then, you might forget about what went on in the first two episodes.

Superstore stars Ferrera (Ugly Betty) and Ben Feldman, the star of last season’s short-lived NBC series A To Z, as employees at a Walmart-esque store in the Midwest. Other members of the cast include Mark McKinney, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos and Nichole Bloom. The show will feel a bit like The Office, since Emmy-nominated Office writer Justin Spitzer is the creator.

Even though NBC is giving the show this big launch tonight, they clearly don’t have much faith in it in the long run. In October, the network shaved its season order to 11, dropping two episodes.

Superstore is one of only three new sitcoms NBC developed for this season that will actually air. Friday night’s Truth Be Told likely won’t last past this month and Eva Longoria’s Hot & Bothered will debut next Monday with a similar preview hour.
