Pixar is getting down to business on Toy Story 4 and they've just added a new actor to the cast.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Patricia Arquette is in talks to join the upcoming animated movie. Rather than providing the voice of a toy, Arquette is expected to play a mom with a hippie personality.
That's an appropriate role for her, considering she recently won an Academy Award for playing a mom in Boyhood. Arquette got started in the industry when she played Kristen in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, and some of her other notable films have been True Romance, Ed Wood, Lost Highway, Bringing Out the Dead, and Holes. She worked on Boyhood from 2002 to 2014 and was awarded Best Supporting Actress.
Arquette is the first major new star to join the Pixar sequel, which will be a love story between Woody and Bo Peep. John Lasseter (Toy Story, Toy Story 2) and Josh Cooley serve as directors, and the screenplay will be written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack (Celeste & Jesse Forever).
Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 15, 2018.
