Seal and Heidi Klum appeared to be the picture of marriage perfection when they renewed their vows every year of their seven-year marriage, but now that they’re divorced, Seal is sharing how he really felt about it.

The couple, who share four children, split in 2012 after marrying in 2005. Renewing their vows became an annual tradition, which Seal now says was like a “circus.”

The singer appeared on Andy Cohen’s SiriusXM radio show on Monday and said, “That was my ex-wife’s idea, to be honest. It kind of turned into a circus, which I wasn’t terribly fond of," Fox411 reports.

He said it was “cool” to do it each year but he’s a “private person” so he didn’t like the spectacle it brought on.

“But then you’re married and you become a team player and you understand that each of you have different lives, and you do whatever you can to support your partner’s life,” he said.

Seal, 52, and Klum, 42, finalized their divorce in 2014.
