Serena Williams posted a tearful tribute via social media after her dog, Jackie Baila Pete Williams, passed away on Tuesday.

TMZ Sports noted that just a day earlier, the tennis star broke the news that her beloved pooch of 16 years was dying.

"I just want to share this with everyone 'cause she's getting old and she's really struggling and she means the world to me ... and she's made my life better," she said.

When Jackie did pass, Williams took to Instagram and shared a tribute to her beloved dog with her followers.

In her first post, she wrote that Jackie’s “body gave out this morning and she had a way of telling me it was time for me to be brave and let her go. With my dad by my side we were able to say a loving goodbye. She was with me from 1999 until today and I miss her so much. I got out of the shower this afternoon and she was not there to lick my leg as she always did every day to remind me how much she loved me.”

Williams then reminded everyone to give their pets a hug.

In a later post, she put up another picture of Jackie and captioned it “My angel.”
