Saturday Night Live is the latest to offer its condolences in light of the recent Paris attacks.
Forgoing its typical cold open, SNL’s Cecily Strong delivered a heartfelt, emotional message for the victims of recent horrific Paris terror attack that left 129 dead in what has been called an “act of war” from ISIS.
Standing on the Studio 8H stage, Strong paid tribute to Paris before the show began.
“Paris is the City of Light. And here in New York City, we know that light will never go out,” she said. “Our love and support is with everyone there tonight. We stand with you.”
She then repeated her message again in French.
Finally, Strong opened the show with the familiar line, “And now, live from New York, it’s Saturday Night.”
Other late night personalities have also taken out time to acknowledge the tragic event that has transpired in Paris.
On Friday night, Bill Maher sang a portion of the French national anthem on his show.
And on the Friday taping of The Late Show, a visibly emotionally distraught Stephen Colbert held back tears while breaking the news of the Paris attacks to his audience at the end of his show.
