Disney has launched a new Omaze charity campaign tied to Star Wars: The Force Awakens to give fans a chance to win a trip to the movie premieres in Los Angeles or London. Each dollar donated is also going to 15 charities nominated by members of the cast and crew.
The Omaze campaign launched today with a video of Harrison Ford himself announcing the campaign to fans over video chats. Everyone is surprised and some even break down in tears. After all, how often do you get to talk with Han Solo himself, even over the web?
If you win this latest contest, you will get to meet members of The Force Awakens cast at the red carpet premieres in London or New York. All flights and a four-star hotel stay are covered and you can take three friends with you.
The 15 charities proceeds will go to are: Africa Cancer Foundation (nominated by Lupita Nyong’o); Arts in the Armed Forces (Adam Driver); Barnardo’s U.K. (Andy Serkis); Central London Samaritans (Anthony Daniels); Damilola Taylor Trust (John Boyega); fStop Warrior Project (Harrison Ford); Feeding America (Mark Hamill); Make-A-Wish (Peter Mayhew); Malala Fund (director J.J. Abrams); PACER Center (Carrie Fisher); Phab (Daisy Ridley); t. Francis Hospice, Raheny (Domhnall Gleeson); The Circle (Gwendoline Christie); UNICEF (producer Kathleen Kennedy); and Union of Concerned Scientists (Oscar Isaac).
For $10, you can enter for 100 chances to win and $100 gives you 1,00 chances, plus a t-shirt. For $20,000, you would get 200,000 chances and a replica Stormtrooper outfit. Unfortunately, the suit was already sold.
You can donate right here. And if you don’t make it to the premiere, you can see The Force Awakens on Dec. 18.
