Jimmy is going crazy. Gretchen mailed the letters that were only supposed to be mailed if he was behind deadline for writing his book. So apparently one went to his family back in England. And now, his family is flying to Los Angeles for a four-day trip.

Gretchen is still suffering from depression. This trip is definitely not going to help her depression or her relationship with Jimmy.

Day 1:

Jimmy’s three sisters and father are making themselves at home at his house. Apparently, Jimmy’s parents got a divorce and his mother re-married, which is why his mother did not come. They are literally sitting in front of the television and doing absolutely nothing. They don’t even want to go out for sightseeing. Jimmy is desperate for Gretchen to help him, which she can’t do.

Day 2:

Lindsay helps Gretchen deal with a wardrobe malfunction of one of her clients. Lindsay gives Gretchen’s client an idea for a new come-back rap called “New Phone, Who Dis?”

Lindsay comments that Jimmy’s family is the Alabama version of British people. They have yet to leave the living room and the television. Jimmy tries to get to the bottom of his parent’s divorce to no avail.

Day 3:

Gretchen takes Jimmy’s two older sisters to the grocery store to get them out of the house, where they wreak havoc. Meanwhile, Edgar takes Jimmy’s youngest sister, Lucy, on a tour of Los Angeles. Jimmy goes on a rant about how he can’t stand his family and how awful they were to him as a kid.

Jimmy does manage to have a heart-to-heart conversation with his dad. His dad admits that he read Jimmy’s book and is even proud of him (gasp!). He advises Jimmy that depression and rough patches don’t always go away in relationships.

Lindsay recorders the “New Phone, Who Dis?” track with Gretchen’s client.

Day 4:

Jimmy’s family finally leaves. Gretchen can’t cope with anything going on with Jimmy and his family. So Jimmy goes to a bar and starts talking with a girl at the bar about his family’s visit.
